New Year, New Start

How many of you stayed up till midnight on the 31st of December to welcome in the new year?  How many of you made new years resolutions?  How many of you have kept your new years resolution?

It’s never too late to start.  You can make a resolution or set a goal (they are similar but not the same)  A resolution might be I’ll be nice more people…  A goal would be I will do at least one good turn, or more, every day.

It’s never too late to set a goal.  It’s a new year, a perfect time to start: you have a clean slate.

I challenge you all to set at least three goals for this year.  I’ll help by aligning them with the Scout Oath:

One for God & country, one for others and one for yourself.

For yourself further break it down into three- One for your physical fitness (if you’re a younger scout get all of your physical fitness rank advancement requirements, if you’ve got those done then get the personal fitness merit badge.  Try out for a new sports team.

Mentally awake- you will get a higher grade point average that last semester or I’ll get an A in English which I’ve never done before.

Morally straight – I’ll leave that one to you.

Remember it’s a new year, you’ve got a new start.  Go for it.
